I Was Not Bullish Enough on These CPU Stocks

The CPU business is ramping even faster than expected due to the AI agent megatrend.

We’ve been all over the CPU theme, driven by the exploding demand from the agentic AI megatrend. Every AI agent requires CPUs to manage a rising load of scheduling tasks, web searches, code execution, and database queries.

Well, we may not have been bullish enough.

Earlier today after a number of conversations with industry sources here at Computex who are in the know, I said CPU demand is ‘off the charts’ and that there wasn’t any type of slowdown. AI agent compute demand is still going exponential.

I’ve since had a few more conversations and I can also say that executives are adamant about the durability of demand.

But the biggest eye-opener came when an NVIDIA executive told me the GPU-to-CPU ratio will go from 2:1 today to 1:1 “in a few months” for agentic AI. In a few months! It is ramping faster than I expected.

It’s one thing if an Intel or AMD executive says this, but an NVIDIA executive saying 1:1 is imminent is a big deal.

As a result of all the conversations here in Taiwan, here are the latest CPU names I like now and the ones I do not.
